Introduction to IRQLinux Team

How can I help?

This is probably the most asked question whenever we ask for help.

There are several areas where you can contribute and help with. This page will cover each and every area. Then, it is for you to decide which area you would like to join as per your interests and experience. 

Please understand  IRQLinux is a community project and all the members of this project are working on voluntary basis. We do what we do because we simply love it. If you have the same passion, then you are indeed in the right place. IRQLinux needs you. With your help, we could be even better.

Who are we?

This is the second most asked question. We are a group of Iraqi people from all over the world. Each one of us is working on a specific area.

Where to contribute?

There are many areas where you can contribute and help IRQLinux with. Choose whatever you like the most. ALL help and contributions are highly appreciated and more than welcome.

1. Artwork Team: Do you have any Graphics Design Skills? Would you like your work to be seen by many all over the world? Interested to make IRQLinux looks better? don't think twice, you can do it.
2. Documentation Team: You want to help us by writing Documentation and maintain the Wiki Area? Join our Wiki and Documentation team.
3. Internet/Networking Team: Do you have experience with web design? forums? blogs? servers? then you're in the right place.
4. Marketing Team: Do you like the idea of IRQLinux and you would like to share it? Interested to make IRQLinux well-known? Are you familiar with the Social Media (Google+, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook)? Are you a GNU/Linux and FOSS Advocate and Supporter? Ever wanted to do something related to Marketing? this is your chance.
5. Packaging and Development Team:  Are you a developer? Do you have the skills to create programs and code? Are you willing to improve (or add) the applications included in IRQLinux? Are you familiar with Ubuntu/Debian Packaging? then it would be great to have your help and support.
6. QA Team: You found a bug in IRQLinux and you want to help fixing it ? You like breaking your system, and find problems? You can't wait to try out the next version of IRQLinux? Please, help the great testing team and join us.
7. Technical Support Team: Do you like helping people and solving problems? have passion for troubleshooting? then what are you waiting for? we need you.

How to join?

After choosing your area where you wish to contribute, kindly fill this form and submit it.

Some Notes you need to be aware of:

1. You are required to be active and proactive as well. Don't wait until someone give you something to do, you should always ask for a task to be assigned to you. It's not necessary to be active on a daily base, but a minimal participation is needed, so we don't have 'ghost members' in our team.
2. Free to organize themselves : each sub-team (of the 7 teams mentioned above) will be responsible to organize themselves the way they see fit.
3. Keep everyone informed of any significant changes on the sub-team you are part of by use of the general mailing list or by informing your team leader.
4. Please make sure to maintain a high level of internal communications with your team. For example, if you are going for vacation or leave, if you are busy with a project or Real Life, please leave a nice and gentle note on the mailing list or let your team leader know.
5. Last but not least, we are a team of 'quality' not 'quantity'.
